Sexy Librarian a novel by Julia Weist & Jennifer Tobias (critical essay) published
by Ellen Lupton/Slush Editions
Julia Weist is a New York based artist
and author. At the age of 23 Julia's novel, Sexy Librarian, was
published by Ellen Lupton/Slush Editions.
The book is now in the collection of the MoMA Library,
the Brooklyn Museum Library, the Getty Institute, and the New York Public Library.
Julia was educated at the Cooper Union School of Art and is completing a
Masters
in Library Science at Pratt Institute. She
is the recipient of numerous awards
and fellowships, including the NYAEA Artist Welfare Fund Prize, and is currently a nominee for the 2009 Brendan Gill Prize.
Julia has recently exhibited in NYC at
Art in General, Sara Meltzer Gallery,
Oliver Kamm Gallery, The Kantor/Feuer Window,
The Center for Book Arts, Anthology Film Archives, as well as international venues
such as Galerie Nuke
in Paris and the Copenhagen Quadrennial.
